ASUS 701 will not VGA link to my 24 inch 1080 monitor, properly.  There is a minit to the maximum pixels displayed, no matter what monitor is connected.

Got confused on the ASUS 1005HA, so moved to SUPER-OS (Ubuntu-based), 'cos it handles my hardware better

Discovered the  trial/etc error/ error / .... that W7 can live happily with Linux, but two different Linux's cannot seem to share the one computer, despite GRUB,  telling me that all the op sys's were bootable.  Tried PCLOS, but was so confused ... not for beginners, since it has so much confusing developer stuff when adding programs, and too many crazy file managers available.

I must say: Leeenux 3.0 is the best option for EEE Pc 701. I will stick with it. But there is a bug that no one fixed: the internal camera isn't recognized, not even by BIOS. And I know it is working because I plugged it to another computer running XP, and it was recognized and worked. I searched all  forums, some people say that they managed to fix, but they didn't tell me. Does someone know how to fix this? Please, write me to deniswelington-at-gmail.com.

Hey, i love this distro, if it wasnt for a few things.

since the eee has such a small hdd, i plan to use it to view my movies and such directly from my other computer.. so i SSH into it or connect to my windows one... and it just doesnt work... trying to play a movie from windows it doesnt really say anything... it just doesnt play... and from xubuntu on my backup comp, it says that i maybe dont have the authority to play it or something like that.

second.. it cant play flash... i try to install flash but then firefox takes a dive and refuses to get up again... i cant install addons on it either since its 3.7 and.. well.. its not released yet.

some help would be awesome, because other than that.. its the BEST OS i have tried for my little EEE 701 4g

thanks!

Hi,

I love the interface and "look" of your distro, but I can't get it to recognize either my broadcom 43xx (yeah I know) wireless card OR by Edimax pcmcia wireless card. The latter works with lots of distros...

Any fixes that have worked for others?

Ben

All I wanted for my ASUS eeePC 701 was an OS that would allow me to surf the 'net and check my e-mail. For a while I ran XP skinnied down with N'lite and a hacked video driver (to be fair, this worked well but was hard to read). Then I bought a 904 with XP installed and the 701 became a 'test' machine. I think I have tried all the Linux for the Eee versions, Pupeee 4.2 was very promising, until it updated itself! Now I have Leeenux, which, so far, works perfectly 'out of the box'. I am a complete Linux newbee (wannabe?), but I have had no problems removing apps I don't need or adding a couple I liked. I'm having to learn a whole bunch of new words and terms - but I'm getting there and enjoying it!
